Custom-made acacia table – solid outdoor piece with torched logs

Sometimes an order comes along that captures your heart right from the first conversation. This was one of them. The customer wanted an outdoor table that wouldn't just be furniture, but a true centerpiece of the garden – a place to sit by the fire, drink wine, and where time would stand still. And he wanted it made of acacia. Honest, solid, with character.

In our workshop in Solanec pod Soláněm, we embraced the challenge fully.

What you see in the photo

The table stands on a stone terrace with a view of the Beskydy slopes. The top is wide, thick, composed of several strong planks with natural, slightly undulating edges. The surface has a rich, darker grain with prominent growth rings and occasional honey-brown transitions. It's not a smooth factory board – it's wood that has retained its history.

The base consists of several robust vertical logs. These are real tree trunks, with bark, cracks, and a texture that no machine can replicate. Parts of the surface are charred to darker tones, which gives the base depth and protects it at the same time. The entire table looks as if it grew directly from the stone terrace. And it's heavy. We needed four men to move it. That's not an exaggeration – it's solid timber.

Material and craftsmanship

The entire set is made of acacia. Acacia is a wood that can withstand the outdoors. It is dense, durable, and has a beautiful, vibrant grain. Both the top and the base were brushed – the surface has a fine, tangible texture that highlights the fibers and at the same time looks natural.

All joints were made with classic wooden bow ties. These not only hold the structure together but also become a decorative element. They are visible, honest, and part of a craft that makes sense.

The entire table (top and log base) was treated with OSMO semi-matte oil. The oil penetrates the wood, protecting it from the elements while allowing the natural grain to stand out. The surface remains pleasant to the touch and only gains patina with age.

Complete set for a fire pit

We also made acacia benches for the table – equally solid, brushed, and oiled. They are designed specifically for the fire pit, to ensure comfortable and stable seating around the fire. We complemented them with smaller stools with table tops. All pieces share the same character: brushed surface, bow tie joints, and honest acacia solid wood.

The entire set appears as a single unit. Nothing is pretended, nothing is faked. It's wood, fire, stone, and people.

Why such a table

Because outdoor spaces deserve the same care as interiors. Because acacia ages gracefully outdoors. Because when you sit at such a table, you feel its weight – literally and figuratively. And because in our workshop, we believe that an honest piece of furniture should bring people together. This table does just that. By the fire, under the open sky, with a view of the Beskydy mountains.

Every detail was crafted by hand. From selecting the logs to brushing and final oiling. No shortcuts, no veneer, no compromise.
