Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a question about our oak or ash dining tables or coffee tables? Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions. All answers come directly from our workshop in Beskydy. If you don't find your question here, please write to me personally - we will be happy to answer.

Material and wood

What is the difference between oak and ash? Which is better?

Oak is harder, has a distinctive grain, and is suitable for family use. Ash is lighter, more flexible, and better suited for modern interiors. Both are made of solid wood and come from the Beskydy Mountains.

Is it really 100% solid wood?

Yes. All our tables are made exclusively from oak or ash, primarily from the Beskydy Mountains. We also source wood from other Czech regions, but the Beskydy Mountains are the main location of our suppliers. No veneer, no laminate, no compromises.

Why wood from the Beskidy Mountains?

Wood from the Beskydy Mountains grows more slowly, is denser, and more durable. This gives it a beautiful natural grain, knots, and color, which make each table unique.

Is the wood treated with any chemicals?

No. We only use natural oil, which protects the wood and enhances its grain.

What oil do you use for finishing?

In most cases, we use OSMO 3062 colorless matte oil, which reliably protects the wood, enhances its natural grain, and maintains a pleasant matte appearance.

Depending on the customer's requirements or the nature of a specific piece, we occasionally use glossy or semi-matte variants of OSMO oils.

Production and Timeline

How long does it take to make a table?

Standardly 3-6 weeks from order. We handcraft each table because we prioritize quality over speed. Delivery for some promotional models may be faster. We can expedite production if necessary.

Do you make custom tables?

Yes. You can change the length, width, leg shape, tabletop thickness, edge rounding, and oil shade. Just let us know your preferences.

Can the table be extended?

No. We currently do not offer any extendable tables.

Dimensions & Fit

What are the standard dimensions?

Dining tables: top width 80–90 cm, top length 120–300 cm, height 78 cm, top thickness approx. 3.8 cm
Coffee tables: top width 120 cm for rectangular and oval, top length 60 cm for rectangular and oval, top diameter 80 cm for round table, height 50 cm, top thickness approx. 3.8 cm

What if I need a non-standard size?

No problem. We regularly make atypical dimensions and shapes. Write to us here and we will discuss the design and price of the table.

Shipping and delivery

Do you deliver throughout the Czech Republic?

Yes, we deliver safely throughout the Czech Republic. The table is carefully packed and secured.

Can I pick up the table in person?

Yes, pickup is possible at the workshop by prior arrangement.

Maintenance and Care

How to care for a solid wood table?

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Based on use, treat with natural oil 1–2 times a year. If you wish to renovate the table, we can arrange that for you. Write or call us, and we will discuss it.

Is the table stain and scratch resistant?

Yes, the oil makes the surface very durable. Light scratches can be easily repaired with oil.

Purchase, payment, warranty and repairs

How do I order and pay?

For standard tables from our offer, orders are placed directly through the e-shop. Payment can be made by card, bank transfer or cash on delivery.

For custom-sized tables with atypical dimensions, orders are placed individually. You have the option to pay directly via invoice or upon collection, also via an invoice with a short payment term.

What is the warranty on the table?

We provide a standard 2-year warranty. However, thanks to their robust construction and craftsmanship, the tables typically last for decades.

Can you fix any defects even after many years?

Yes. Solid oak or ash tables can be repaired almost at any time. We sand the surface, re-oil it, repair scratches, cracks, or even larger damage. Thanks to the purely solid construction, repair is always possible and significantly cheaper than with veneered or laminated furniture.

Price and other questions

Why are your tables more expensive than in chain stores?

You are paying for handcrafted quality, premium solid wood from the Beskydy Mountains, and long-lasting durability. It's an investment that will pay off with decades of satisfaction.

Is the table heavy?

Yes, solid wood tables are heavier than veneered ones. This makes them stable and sturdy.

Are the edges rounded and safe for children?

Yes, all our tables have rounded edges as standard. We can round them even more upon request.

Is it possible to see the table before buying?

Yes. You can arrange a workshop visit or request detailed photos of a specific piece.
