Why here, in the Beskydy Mountains

My workshop is located in Hutisko-Solanec. It's no coincidence. Here, oaks and ashes grow slower. In a harsher climate, the wood becomes denser, stronger, and has a more distinctive grain. When I examine such a plank, caress it, and listen to its annual rings, I feel that I am working with a material that has its own history. Each piece is unique. No two tables that leave my workshop look the same. And that's exactly what I want.

In the Beskydy Mountains, I have peace. No rush, no series production, no call center. Just me, wood, tools, and time for everything to fit exactly as it should. I want every table to carry a piece of this energy. Not to be just a functional object, but a piece of nature that I've merely helped show to the world.

Oak and ash – two woods with a soul

Oak is king for me. Hard, durable, with a deep grain that ages beautifully. It can withstand daily life – stains, scratches, children's play – and still remains elegant.

Ash brings a light, elegant tone and interesting texture. It appears lighter and more modern, but is just as honest and strong.

I treat both woods with natural OSMO oil. The oil doesn't seal the wood but lets it breathe. It enhances the grain, protects the surface, and preserves the natural scent of the forest. When you touch such a table, you feel the wood, not plastic or lacquer.

For the tabletops, I add metal bases that I design and have carefully manufactured. Simple, stable, clean lines that allow the wood to take center stage.

What previous projects taught me

Before I "got stuck" on tables, I went through many projects. I made entire custom kitchens where every door had to fit to the millimeter. I built stairs that connect floors and families. I designed pergolas under which generations would later gather. All by hand, with respect for the material.

I now use these experiences for every table. I know how wood works, how it reacts to humidity, how it behaves after years. I know that honest work is evident at first glance and first touch. And I know that a table I make is not for a year or two. I make it to outlast you.

A table that brings people together

For me, a table is not just a board on four legs. It's a place where family gathers. Where Sunday lunches are eaten, homework is done, birthdays are celebrated, and quiet weekday evenings are spent. I want every table I make to carry this energy. So that people sit around it happily and feel that it's something honest.

Therefore, no mass production. Rather fewer tables, but each with a story, with character, and with the care it deserves.
